solution dilution calculator
what is this good for?
Performs common dilution calculations – daily hassle of every chemist or geochemist. Typically, you have a stock solution of something and need to make a certain amount of diluted solution out of it. The solution calculator calculates how much of the stock solution to take and how much water to add to get the desired solution.
- no approximations, results are precise
- only single-component solutions are supported so far
- molalities and molarities only
- for molarity → molarity calculations specify the desired amount in volume units
- for other calculations the desired amount should be in mass units

how do you make 250 ml of 1M of HCl from the stock solution with the following info. 37% g/g purity D= 1.19 g/ml solution is 12M thank you

Rosa M*V = M*V, so 12M HCl * Xml = 1M * 250ml HCl 12M HCl * Xml = 250mlM HCl Xml = 20.83ml So start with 20.8ml HCl, and add water until you have 250ml solution.
